Who We Are

in Building A

HarborYTH is a student ministry for 6th-12th grade that aims to give students a safe place to create meaningful bonds with other students and leadership mentors, to allow students to ask questions in order to build their faith, and to discover the full impact of the Gospel.

Joel 2:28-30a NLT

“Then, after doing all those things, I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your old men will dream dreams, and your young men will see visions. In those days I will pour out my Spirit even on servants—men and women alike. And I will cause wonders in the heavens and on the earth…”

The Threefold Mission

We have a heart to ensure that no student that walks into the doors of the church should go unseen, and that no student who leaves should feel dismissed. It is our goal to be there for students’ highs and lows outside of the church and to give them a safe space with safe people inside of the church.

01
Build Relationships

Above all else, we strive to teach students that personal relationship with Jesus is the foundation for a solid faith, and a solid faith is based on understanding the Scripture. We want Safe Harbor Youth to be a place where students can ask questions, dive deeper into the Word, and discover exactly why they believe what they believe in order to strengthen their own personal faith and help strengthen the faith of others.

02
Build Faith

We want to see students who seek to multiply the Kingdom, not students who are content doing nothing. By teaching students the importance of the Great Commission, Jesus’s heart for the lost, and His desire for us to be active in the work of the Father, we develop students who leave our youth ministry with a strong foundational faith and a desire to populate Heaven.

03
Build Disciples

A Word from Pastor Shelby

“Student ministry is an integral part of keeping the Church today alive. It’s not a babysitting service, it’s not a simple after-school program, and it’s not just something to pass the time. Student ministry is a real, tangible, and long-lasting way to change the lives of our teenagers and young adults in our community. I am so excited to bring to you my vision for this ministry, and I hope that you will see the heart behind why we are doing what we are doing. Please take time to pray over your students, this ministry, and your pastors as you take the time to read through this vision to prepare our hearts for the growth that God wants to begin in Safe Harbor Youth.”
